Well yes sadly there is a reason, in 2005 the car had a unfortunate mishap with a Field Hedge & although the damage to the front o/s was very minimal back then it wasn’t so valuable & deemed a Category D loss

With a log of parts required & labour @ a Professional body repair specialist using genuine BMW parts supplied by bmw Cooper Sevenoaks inc a front bumper cover, o/s plastic inner wheel arch liner, o/s fog light & a bonnet repair showing just how light the damage was with absolutely no structural damage whatsoever, it was back roadworthy once again

So you either get your knickers in a twist about it & it’s not for you which I get, or you understand that this car is nearly £10k cheaper than other similar Evo’s advertised, it does make it an absolutely useable & enjoyable M3 Evo, potentially not so precious that granted isn’t going to ever be worth as much as some, but is still a very worthy future investment with values of 90s cars on the up & up
